Southall Community Alliance have planned a fantastic programme of events spanning LCPW24, addressing each of the daily themes:

Monday 14 October: Adequate income – social security and work

Tuesday 15 October: Housing and Homelessness

Wednesday 16 October: Physical and Mental Health

Thursday 17 October: Poverty, dignity and discrimination

Friday 18 October: Poverty and climate change


London Challenge Poverty Week 2024 #YourWellbeingMatters! 

Events running across the week, The RJ4All Rotherhithe Community Centre, 30 Plough Way, London SE16 2LJ

This LCPW, RJ4All are particularly focusing on Physical and Mental Well-being, focusing on minorities who often lack access to essential health and social care services in the UK. Promoting their well-being is not only a fundamental right but is also essential for fostering a more resilient and inclusive community.

Join them from 14th of October 2024 for a range of events and activities , exploring the intersection of poverty, mental health, and physical well-being, and how creating a supportive environment for all can strengthen the social fabric of our city.

Budget like a boss. Free, expert money coaching

Strategic Partnerships: Working Together to Advise Londoners in Crisis

London Citizens Advice works across all boroughs and are seeing more Londoners fall into entrenched poverty and negative budgets, and more Londoners coming to us for advice at crisis point. Join us as we share our data, insights, learning and strategies, including two years evidence from the Advising Londoners Partnership – An innovative collaboration between London Citizens Advice and London Legal Support Trust to support Londoners through the cost-of-living crisis, and find out about our training and resources.

Exploring data using the Local Insight Tool

Join us during London Challenge Poverty Week to delve into the many datasets available in the Local Insight tool built by OCSI. During the session we will explore data from the Census, Department of Work and Pensions on unemployment and benefit claimant levels as examples that provide evidence of need in your areas. We will also explore current population data at London-wide, Borough-wide and Ward level.

Open House event to mark the International Day to End Poverty

The Open Day will feature a range of stalls run by partners, a short presentation reflecting on ATD Fourth World’s journey and achievements over the past year, and a taster of the well-being activities they run as part of the Together in Dignity programme.
